Hi everyone,

Nominations are open for this Friday night, our Championship night.

We still require nominations, but the meet will be run more like a school carnival

What does this mean?

We will swim each event with the kids in their age and swimming categories

i.e.

• Boys 6yo and under - 22m Freestyle
• Girls 6yo and under - 22m Freestyle
• Boys 7yo - 22m Freestyle
• Girls 7yo - 22m Freestyle

This will be repeated for each age group, each stroke and the appropriate distance.

Age groups are based upon the age the child turns this year. Children in the 10 years or higher age groups (so those born 2014 or earlier) are required to swim 2 laps.

The championship night usually starts with 4 shoot out races, which are open for nominations however we will pick the 5 fastest for each race, but having your nominations helps us bring in extras in the case swimmers don't show up or decide not to swim the shootouts.

We have found the shootouts are an excellent way to start the night, and set the tone for the meet.

The shootouts looks like this

• Boys 22m (fastest 5 9yrs and under)
• Girls 22m (fastest 5 9yrs and under)
• Boys 44m (fastest 5 10yrs and over)
• Girls 44m (fastest 5 10yrs and over)

Nominations close Friday 3pm, but we really ask that you try to get these nominations as soon as possible as this meet takes a little more planning.

Also, if not attending, it is helpful if you could mark your children as not attending. Just so that we know it simply hasn’t been forgotten.
