Hi All

Attached is the final(ish) nomination sheet for the Kedron Cup. At present it is on, all we can do is monitor the updates for the cyclone and cancel it if need be.

I believe everyone has at least one swim. I have had to put a few kids into events they didn’t nominate for (mainly butterfly), but I have only done it into strokes they have swum before.

On that note, if there are any 8yo or younger girls who want to have a shot at swimming butterfly this week, we have 2 spots that couldn’t be filled. I’ll see if I can get my daughter to try it.

The gates at 2PM for warmup, with the racing starting at 2:30. For those of you who haven’t been there yet, there is a bit more room in the stands at Kedron than we have.

The carnival does operate with a very simplified set of rules. Reasons for disqualification are:

• If you break twice - if you break once you get another go
• Touch with two hands in butterfly and breaststroke
• Backstroke - must stay on your back to touch the wall (no turning over to touch the wall)
• No feet touching the ground until completion of the race - both 25m and 50m races

That said they are generally a bit more lenient on the little kids, and don’t enforce it unless they place.

We will have a few jobs to fill on the day. We will need:

• 2 timerkeepers (Kedron use the same timing system as us)
• 1 adjucator (that’s the people who decide who actually places where and give the swimmers their little tokens to go collect their ribbons)
• A few people to help with marshalling

There is also a parents relay. We’ll need 8 brave parents to hit the pool for a 4 x 25m freestyle relay (2 teams obviously).

Other than that, remember to slip, slop, slap and to cheer for all your friends.
